Elite Pilot Program

This is a 9-week program consisting of 6+ hours of flight instruction per week. Several scholarships are available through EAA Chapter 1354 and the Ray Foundation. Your schedule will consist of no less than three flight lessons per week as weather permits. Flight instruction will include the use of FAA approved Advanced Aviation Training Device (flight simulator - DCX MAX). Students, at the end of the training and successfully passing the Practical test flight, will have their FAA Single Engine Private Pilot Certification.

High School students must have passed the FAA Knowledge test with a score 0f 80% or higher, taken the Compass Test, and approved by the ACT Selection Board. The Selection Board is comprised of three Delta Airline Captains. This is a 12 month program.  Flight lessons are conducted as an after-school program and on weekends. Student must schedule no less than three flight lessons per week. You will fly, along side your CFI, in a LSA aircraft and AATD (Redbird MCX simulator).

Guidelines:

  • Student must have taken the Private Pilot Ground School course and passed the FAA Knowledge Test with a score of 80% or higher. 



  • Student must be at least 16 years old. 


  • Student and their parent/guardian must be interviewed by the Director of the Aeronautical Center of Technology. This is for the purpose of having a full understanding of the commitment required to be accepted into the program.


  • Student must be approved by the Selection Board (three Delta Airline Captains). 


  • Student will be required to take an aptitude test.
